Mafalda graduated in Portugal in 2014, and was invited to join the Periodontology
department of the university right after. This opportunity led her to start her journey working
exclusively in periodontology since then. She did a Post-Graduate Residency program in
Periodontology and later on Medicine and Oral Pathology.
Mafalda says that “being a dentist gave me the opportunity to understand how we can make a
big difference in people’s lives by taking care of their smile, specially with their gums.” and
her aim is to help patients to improve their self-confidence, involving them in the decisionmaking
process at every stage of their treatment.
Outside the clinical environment, Mafalda really enjoys arts and crafts, photography and
traveling.
