Prevention

One of the most effective ways to cultivate good dental hygiene is to prevent issues before they occur. This can be as simple as adjusting your current routine or seeking out cosmetic or medical care before issues become much worse. This can make the difference between a quick fissure seal and extensive surgical work, or regular trips to the dentist and suffering long-term damage

Some of our preventative measures include:

Fissure Sealant

Fissure Sealants
Made up from a protective layer that prevents further damage to a tooth, fissure sealants are directly added to teeth to prevent food and bacteria from gathering trapped in the lines and crevices in your teeth. Non-invasive and painless, fissure sealing a tooth is recommended as soon as a tooth has emerged or ‘erupted’.

Once applied, these last for many years and will help provide an extra level of defence for your teeth. However, they should be regularly checked as part of regular trips to your dentist to ensure that the seal is fit for purpose and replaced as needed.

Fluoride Application

Fluoride
An essential part of your tooth’s welfare, fluoride is an essential mineral that helps prevent tooth decay. Having enough fluoride in your diet can help re-enamel your teeth and a natural barrier against physical damage like chips and scrapes. This also makes your enamel harder to erode and fights off damage from sugary drinks and acids from fresh fruit.

The Fluoride varnishing process can be used to ‘top-up’ and protect your teeth. This involves painting a thin protective layer over your teeth to help fight off tooth decay. This provides an excellent early barrier for children – bolstering their ability to fight tooth decay and preventing follow-on conditions.

Child Dentistry

Taking care of your child’s teeth is essential, especially it a world where it’s increasingly hard to control their sugar intake. When a child comes to us, we will perform an extensive, low worry check to assess their overall dental health and identify any pressing issues that need to be corrected.

Taking the time to review your child’s dental health allows you to take early corrective action for a range of issues from tooth decay and damage, gum health, abscesses, and more. Once the check-up is complete, you can provide guidance about the options available to you and make an informed decision about how to proceed with their care.

6 Month Check-Up

Check up
Taking regular care of your dental health is an essential part of maintaining your oral health.
Booking out regular visits to your provider can enable to stay on top of any issues. While issues from damage or chipping can be quick to spot, the most problematic issues do not manifest themselves until it is too late to correct – causing damage and risking the need to undertake serious procedures.

Taking part in a regular check-up will allow your dentist to check in our general health, investigate your overall dental hygiene and care, and undertake an exploratory test to determine if further action is taken. If issues are identified, this allows your provider to react quickly and decisively – saving you time and pain in the long run and maintain the highest standards of care.
