Inlay & Onlay

What are inlays and onlays?

Inlays and onlays are highly durable, long-lasting restorations that are applied to cavities that would be otherwise difficult to repair through conventional means. These are designed to fit perfectly within the tooth to help prevent further damage.

They are made from highest-grade porcelain and a mix of composite resins that are hand-crafted to ensure a natural look. These are taken by impressions to create a unique design that works for your unique case, ensuring that it will remain in place through a strong dental-grade adhesive.

The inlay procedure requires approximately two visits to the clinic. During the first appointment, any decay is removed, impressions are taken, and the temporary inlay is applied to the tooth. At the second appointment, the permanent inlay is bonded to the tooth, hiding any signs of imperfection.

Inlays and onlays may be used for cosmetic enhancement, to restore broken or decayed teeth, or to replace a damaged filling.

How do they help?

Choosing to deploy an inlay or onlay carries the following benefits.

  • Maintains teeth: Applying an onlay will help to maintain the appearance and the ongoing care of your teeth. This maintains your structure and prevents further damage.
  • Durable solution: An inlay or onlay is a long-term solution that is designed to last for as long as possible. Fitting one will ensure your problem is directly addressed with diligence and care.
  • Natural aesthetic: The hand-crafted nature of the restoration means that it will perfectly fit the hue and look of your tooth, ensuring a subtle, non-noticeable solution.
